Microneedling is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure that uses fine needles to create controlled micro-injuries in the skin. This process, also known as collagen induction therapy, stimulates the body’s natural healing response, which in turn boosts the production of collagen and elastin. It is most often performed on the face but can also treat other areas of the body, and the needles can be adjusted to different depths depending on the treatment area. Microneedling is used to improve various skin concerns, including fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, enlarged pores, and uneven skin tone. After a session, patients can expect temporary redness and swelling, similar to a mild sunburn, with brighter, firmer skin appearing in the weeks that follow as new collagen develops.
